Student Government meetings take place weekly. Elections take place in the spring, and students learn about fair campaigns, public speaking, and collaboration to improve our school community. Student Government members are responsible for morning announcements over "The Student Government Channel" and a variety of school leadership initiatives. More information will be available in the fall of 2018.

Community Service Club meets every Friday after school. In this club, students raise money for and donate their time and efforts to local causes and charities. In the past, they have set up food drives to benefit hungry neighbors, volunteered in soup kitchens, cleaned up and painted local schools, planted trees, and more. Recently, we collected 500 pounds of nonperishable food items for the City Harvest Food Drive, and have raised over $200 in pennies for donation through the Penny Harvest. In the winter of 2014, we ran a toy drive and wrapped presents for local families in need, and we also raised over $200 in five days for cancer research through a Valentine’s Day event. We have also raised money for primate conservation causes, and collected pet food and care items for a local animal shelter. We are a very active club and we welcome anyone to attend who has a passion to serve others in the local community. For more information, please contact Ms. Frank at sfrank@energytechhs.org or Ms. Ferrari at cferrari@energytechhs.org.

Shakespeare Club participates in the annual Shakespeare Festival, and meets after school to prepare. In this club, students work with a teacher and a teaching artist to develop and act out scenes from Shakespearean plays, which will ultimately be performing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in the spring. Students learn the basics of theater and acting skills, and use these experiences to develop their own short productions. For more information, please contact Mr. Flood at mflood@energytechhs.org.

The Liberty Partnership Saturday Program offers students the opportunity to participate in exciting classes in topics such as Digital Photography, Latin Dance, the Art of New York City, SAT Prep, Engineering, and more.
