Laura Miller
Industry Liaison

Laura Miller has spent the last several years connecting employers to New York City’s next generation of talent. At Energy Tech, Ms. Miller helps students connect to and prepare for the world of work through job shadowing, mentoring, internships, and more. Ms. Miller works with founding industry partners Con Edison and National Grid. She also recruits other companies and organizations to get involved in the school. Ms. Miller envisions a future in which every Energy Tech graduate has discovered their passion and is equipped with the skills and industry knowledge they need to successfully pursue it.

Prior to working at Energy Tech, Ms. Miller worked at the CUNY Early College Initiative supporting Energy Tech and the other six 9-14 early college and career schools and their employer partners. Ms. Miller has also worked as an education researcher at New Visions for Public Schools and Center for New York City Affairs. Ms. Miller was first introduced to CTE schools as Policy Advisor at NYC Small Business Services. In that role, she managed workforce development programs for youth and adults in connection with the Workforce1 Career Centers.

Ms. Miller began her career as a community organizer in Detroit working with residents to improve neighborhood schools, safety and housing. Ms. Miller holds a BA in Urban Studies from University of Michigan and an MS in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School.
