Natalia Alvarez
Secretary Payroll/Purchasing

Natalia Alvarez, Parent Coordinator, is in her second year working for the Department of Education. She worked as an assistant manager at a private medical practice for six years, and after that she worked as the COO assistant at a law firm here in New York. She has a seven-year-old son who just started his second year of education in the New York City Public School system.

In January 2014, she was hired to fulfill the role of a Parent Coordinator at Energy Tech High School. She is thrilled to work with our families, and to be able to work together to help our children in their school performance. The Parent Coordinator position is a staff position that was created by the Department of Education to help parents have a better understanding about the Public Education system. Parent Coordinators were hired to work as liaisons between staff, parents and administration. The Department of Education recognizes that by helping parents with their needs, we are also helping students. Please have in mind that students will benefit by the parent support provided to them. Ms. Alvarez's goal is to increase parental involvement and encourage parents and families to attend as many planned events as possible. Workshops, conferences, and Parent Association meetings are intended to keep you informed about what is happening in the school community.
