Spotlight: Robotics

Hello there! My name is Prasie, and I am currently a student at Energy Tech High School. Energy Tech immediately grabbed my attention when I noticed that it is one of the twelve early college schools in NYC specializing in engineering and also that it has an FRC robotics program. The early college classes here allow students to earn free college credits.

Besides my regular college classes, I look forward to heading to school every morning because of my FRC robotics team, the E-Tech Chargers. Our robotics team consists of diverse students, teachers, mentors, and coaches. The robotics team offers various crews including: Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, Programming, and Business & Marketing. From each crew, students can learn a wide range of skills, including design and fabrication of robot parts using specialized software, wiring electrical and electronic components, programming our robot to follow instructions, as well as ensuring that we have enough funding to thrive throughout the competition seasons.

I joined the robotics team two years ago and it continues to inspire me every day with the enthusiasm and curiosity to learn and grow together as a team. Getting involved with my school's robotics team meant more than just building robots - it was building community, connecting with other FRC teams, and most importantly charging forward together through all challenges as a team.

In addition to challenging students academically, Energy Tech is a great choice for students seeking professional opportunities. We offer STEM courses at E-Tech that are unique and will certainly help you advance in your future career.
