Grades 13-14

In Years 5 and 6, Energy Tech students, who are admitted into the AAS and AS program, are fully integrated as LaGuardia Community College (LaGCC) students, taking all classes on the college campus. While students take advantage of on-campus resources, such as tutorial services, they also receive academic and social-emotional support from high school staff and faculty.

Students in Years 5 and 6, also known as “Grades 13 and 14 students,”  continue to participate in career activities, such as internships, career exploration, career-skills workshops, networking, and job test preparation, that are facilitated by the high school. Throughout their two years of studies at LaGCC students collaborate with school counselors, college faculty, and industry mentors to design and prepare for their post-secondary pursuits. Upon completion of the two-year AAS or AS program, students are eligible to apply for a range of exciting and rewarding careers in energy, technology, and engineering. A number of students also continue on to advanced studies in bachelor’s degree programs.
