Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Career and Technical Education (CTE) schools prepare students for a range of different careers within an area of focus. Our 9-14 model school blends a college degree pathway with technical classes and career-readiness activities in order to prepare students for in-demand STEM careers in our local energy and utility industry.

Our CTE program requires that students:

  • participate in both high school and college-level technical coursework, such as Introduction to Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Devices and Instrumentation, Computer Electronics, Circuit Analysis, Materials Science, as well as project seminars and workshops
  • participate in career-readiness instruction and activities, such as job shadowing, networking events, project teams, and internships
  • complete an AAS or AS degree—free of cost—and fulfill other Energy Tech requirements, such as community service and a capstone project
